At the Faculty Organic Agriculture Sciences, Section Soil Biology and Plant Nutrition (Prof. Dr. R.G. Jörgensen) is - pending approval- a position to be filled until 31.08.2024:Doctoral/postgraduate position (EG 13 TV-H), part time (20 hours per week) Closes: Reference: 34322
Tasks:
Scientific collaboration in the research project "Activity of soil organism communities as indicators of sustainable land use" in the above mentioned research project
Investigation of C-use efficiency and Stoechiometry of the microbial biomass and the soil at various agroforestry sites in Germany
autonomous conduction of soil sampling, chemical and microbiological analyses in Witzenhausen and
autonomous conduction of statistical evaluation of data and writing of scientific publications
Determination of microbial C-use efficiency in incubation experiments and analysis of 13C in CO2, microbial biomass and in particular organic substance. Analysis of C, N, S und P in der microbial Biomass and soil.
Collaboration with further research groups joint research project with the aim to evaluate factors influencing soil C sequestration mediated by soil microorganisms
Writing of reports and presentation of data at international conferences

Completed university degree with at least good results in the study areas agronomy, biology, geosciences or adjacent disciplines. The required degree has to be on hand not later than appointment

Capability of autonomous scientific work
excellent capabilities in laboratory work and experience in soil microbiology and statistical analyses
excellent English skills in speaking and writing are compulsory, basic knowledge of German
driving licence class B

Gehalt und Beschäftigungsverhältnis
Part time, with 50.00 percent of the regular weekly work time of a fully employed person.
The position is limited until 31.08.2024 to collaborate in the programme "Sustainable intensification of agriculture through agroforestry (BonaRes-SIGNAL)". Position for scientific qualification according to (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG); possibility to pursue a doctoral degree (PhD).
